What is Microneedling Treatment?

Microneedling commonly also known as Collagen stimulation therapy and dermarolling, is a treatment that involves piercing your skin with tiny, sterile needles (microneedling the skin).

This treatment is a minimally invasive procedure for your skin, each tiny needle creates a microscopic hole that mimics injuring your skin, in turn your skin then starts the healing process which involves creating brand new collagen and elastin in the layers of your skin, this process tightens and firms up the skin whilst allowing amazing absorption of key nutrients during the procedure.

Microneedling works to make your skin thicker and stronger by promoting natural repair and growth.

Areas that can be treated

As well as making your skin thicker and stronger and promoting natural repair and growth, Microneedling can treat the following:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Crepey skin

Is Microneedling safe?

Microneedling is completely safe when performed by a trained professional, in a clinically safe environment.

Does it hurt?

Prior to treatment a topical anaesthetic is applied to the area being treated, there is usually a feeling of pin pricks during the procedure, this is normal, each client’s experience will vary.

Preparation for treatment

  • No fillers or Botox 3 weeks before or after the treatment
  • Avoid UV exposure – natural sun or tanning beds for at least 2-4 weeks before treatment.
  • No facial acid treatments (Retin A, Salicylic, Glycolic, Peels) for at least 2 weeks before or for 4 weeks following treatment.

What to expect after treatment

Following treatment, you will notice your skin is pinky/red with all the blood that has been stimulated in the area, this is perfectly normal and will subside.

Your skin will feel warm to the touch and will feel tight initially having an instant contraction, it then starts the process of producing new collagen, results will continue to improve for 12+ weeks and are long-lasting.

Results will vary from client to client and some people may benefit from a course of treatments followed by top ups as and when you feel needed.

Additional treatments can be carried out 6-8 weeks after the initial treatment to allow the skin to fully recover.

Results

Results will vary from client to client and some people may benefit from a second treatment depending on factors such as age, skin condition and skin response. Prices start from £150 but will vary for this treatment dependent on which areas you want treated, if having several areas treated a package price will be offered.

A 10% deposit at time of making a booking is required to secure your appointment. Booking deposits are non-refundable if cancellation is made within 24 hours of your booking or failure to attend your appointment.
